Who would've thought an old oatmeal box could come in so handy!? These are some of Pumpkin's babies having a snooze. This is Heidi's line-up! A couple of Brownie's dollies :-)

I will have a small batch of babies to post in a few weeks so feel free to check back! Cookie and Hurst have some beautiful babies growing! Pumpkin and Brownie also have brand new ones... pictures coming soon!
I keep thinking maybe I should post a diary of a days work in the rabbitry! However, it is a very unromantic story at times!
If you happen to visit on a Monday, you will usually find me mopping floors, scrubbing and emptying trays, and scraping out nest boxes. My main trays get sprayed down twice a day but Mondays we do deep cleaning! Its amazing what my sweet little bunnies can accomplish in a short time! Or perhaps you'll find me crouched over on the ground trying to take pictures of jumping, squirming little bunnies who want to explore the world and taste everything in sight right this minute! You wouldn't believe how many pictures I have to take of each one in order to get those cute ones you see - there's lots of blurry ones between the good ones! This week I finally got a little patio made outside my front door so hopefully now I can avoid the mud puddles on my middle of the night check up trips! Nothing like going out in my bath robe and flip flops at 2am to slop through puddles! This is Hurst's litter. It's amazing what a week does for their looks! Last week they still looked like mice - this week they're irresistible!
Well, here we are at the end of February already! Hard to believe March is starting this week-the year is flying by! Just wanted to let folks know I have a few litters of small babies right now and am expecting more over the next week or so. This means I won't have any actually ready to go to new homes for another eight weeks. However, I will have them posted and up for adoption sometime before that so feel free to keep checking back! I usually like to get their pictures up when they're around 5 weeks old.
These are Heidi's three boys - yes, their ears will all lay down when they get a bit older! Matilda's little trio - female on the left and two boys on the right
Hurst's Boys Pumpkin with her babies Brownie's babies - a day to cuddle in the nest! There's six in there!
These little ones are Pumpkins babies which were just born this morning! Amazing what a couple weeks does to their appearance!
Pumpkin has her nest all made - she is expecting babies in a few days. Most of my does will pluck fur from their belly when they are in labor in order to line their nest and keep the babies warm. Pumpkin, however, is a very organized mother and has hers ready to go days in advance! She is a wonderful mother and one of my favorite does.

AuthorI originally got the idea to raise rabbits for fertilizer for my garden! Obviously, one thing led to another and I am now the owner of a small rabbitry. I love my bunnies and enjoy spending time with them! Archives
